PRENATAL CARe

Exceptional prenatal care is provided, including appointments that last about an hour, welcoming the participation of partners and children, while allowing ample time for questions to be thoroughly answered.​ Please note some of these appointments will be virtual appointments.
  • Appointments every 4-6 weeks from initiation of care to 32 weeks.
  • Appointments every 2-4 weeks from 32 weeks to 36 weeks.
  • Weekly or every other week prenatal appointments from 36 to 40 weeks.
  • Weekly prenatal appointments from 40+ weeks.
  • A home visit 36 - 37 weeks
  • ​Pregnancy Labs
  • Library of pregnancy and birth related books available for checkout
  • Availability by phone for questions that arise between appointments

BIRTH SERVICES

Support and encouragement throughout labor. Skilled attendants, educated in the process of normal birth and armed with the knowledge of when referral for medical attention is necessary. 

POSTPARTUM SERVICES

  • Immediate in-home postpartum care following the birth.
  • A minimum of 2 in-home postpartum visits following the birth.
  • Optional appointments at 2 and/or 4 weeks postpartum at the office.
  • A six-week in-office postpartum visit.
  • Breast/chest feeding support in person as well as by phone.
  • Referrals for further breast/chestfeeding support and family planning needs.

NEWBORN CARE

  • In-home newborn exam following birthIn-home newborn check-ups during postpartum visit. All newborn required and standard screens are offered.
  • Birth certificate and SS number applications are completed for you, should you desire one.
  • Referrals to pediatricians, family practice doctors, chiropractors and Naturopathic Doctors.
  • Weight checks during postpartum visits.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Abundant Moon Birth & Wellness, LLC is pleased to offer and refer for additional services to families who are birthing under the care of Abundant Moon Birth & Wellness, LLC and families who are birthing elsewhere. Custom packages can be provided for multiple services. Please contact us at [email protected] for more information.
  • Birth Tub Rental: A quality birth tub is available for rent. It includes set up, take down and all cleaning. Includes an adaptor, fish net, liner, cover. You’ll need to provide a hose that reaches from the tub to the sink and toilet. 
  • Towel Service: Fresh towels, washcloths, baby hats, receiving blankets and cotton underpads provided for labor and birth and removed afterward, allowing the family to avoid this cleaning step following the birth.  
  • Birth Counseling: Although we cover much of this during prenatal care, occasionally it is helpful to really delve into past experiences (in the example of birth trauma or previous abuse) in a deeper way than possible during appointments. Or, in the case of pre-conception preparation for birth. 
  • Lab work: Although in the care of Abundant Moon Birth & Wellness, LLC, all lab draws and procedures are covered if done by Abundant Moon Birth & Wellness, the expense of lab tests will not be included. Ask for specific pricing.
  • Childbirth Education: Childbirth education materials are included in your care. 
  • Insemination services: Abundant Moon Birth & Wellness, LLC can perform insemination or train you in home insemination.
  • Newborn eye treatment: Eye treatment provided to the newborn in the postpartum period.
  • Newborn vitamin K: Either injectable or oral Vitamin K given to the newborn in the postpartum period.
  • Metabolic screen: A blood test for your newborn screening for many metabolic disorders.
  • CCHD screen: A pulse oximeter screening of the newborn that has been shown to catch heart conditions not found on ultrasound.
  • Hearing screen: A painless procedure to screen for hearing loss in the newborn.
  • Rhogam prenatal: For Rh negative pregnant people in pregnancy.
  • Rhogam postpartum: For Rh negative pregnant people in the postpartum period (we need to screen the baby’s blood type).
