About Erin (she/her): She has four children, all born at home, two she carried and two her wife, Melissa carried. She strives to be the best sibling, friend, mother, partner and midwife she can be. She always wants to learn more and honor all cycles of life. She began training before her first child was born. First, receiving a Bachelor’s in Biology from Hamline University, then going on to get Certification as a Doula; a trained labor support person. During her first pregnancy, she began academic studies for the Master’s program at the Midwives College of Utah. After his birth, she started apprenticeship and trained with midwives in MN and at the birthing clinic, Yayasan Bumi Sehat in Bali, Indonesia. She started taking her own clients in 2006, although she didn’t complete her thesis project until 2009. She graduated with a Master’s in Midwifery and lives in Knapp, Wisconsin. Upon graduation from Midwives College of Utah, she was hired as faculty and continues to teach online. The office is in Menomonie. She is an active member of the WI Guild of Midwives and NACPM, is a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) and a Licensed Midwife (WI). About Jade (she/her): She lives in Eau Claire with her fiancé, Marcee. They have 3 children that were all born at home with Erin. Jade was called to midwifery just days after her first child was born. The seamless care and unconditional support that she received from the birth team made a huge difference in the outcome of their birth and postpartum time. It felt so important to her to become a midwife, so more people had access to this level of care. Her journey to becoming a midwife was filled with more bumps and roadblocks than one could have ever imagined but this passion is what kept her going. She began her training as a birth assistant within Erin’s practice in 2015. She completed her academic education online through the Midwives College of Utah from 2017-2022 while continuing her hands-on experience locally. She is an active member of the Wisconsin Guild of Midwives and has been serving on the board as the treasurer since 2020. She received her CPM in July of 2023 and became licensed in Wisconsin shortly thereafter. |
